Nico Rosberg reinstated his championship with a lights to flag victory in he and the sport's debut at the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan.
Rosberg got a great get away from the line, pulling away from second placed man Daniel Ricciardo. Meanwhile at the back, Rio Haryanto had a less successful start, making contact with Felipe Nasr. He dropped from 18th to the very back of the order (22nd).
There were a couple of great battles at the start. The best saw Valterri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Romain Grosjean fighting for 7th place. The brawls got even better when drivers started completing their one and only pit stops, returning to the track hoping to regain their previous track position.
Britain's Lewis Hamilton had started the weekend by telling drivers to stop moaning. However, he spent the majority of the race complaining about his car to the team. When an issue occurred, he asked the them if he could fully reset the car but they told him he wasn't allowed. Like a naughty school child, Lewis disobeyed them and sorted out the car himself.
After 51 laps of uneventful racing, the chequered flag confirmed Rosberg and Mercedes' first European Grand Prix victory. Nico celebrated on the podium with Sebastian Vettel and Sergio Perez. A great day all round for German motorsport.
