2015: Brazil

Victory for Rosberg Drives Brazil Nuts

Nico Rosberg drove Brazil nuts by taking his 40th career victory at Autodromo Carlos Pace in Interlagos.

Rosberg got a good getaway, pulling ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton and the rest of the pack. The pace was slowed slightly when Carlos Sainz stopped on track at the pit lane exit due to a power failure. This issue prevented him from reaching the grid prior to the Grand Prix.

Early pit stops mixed up the order. This was also the case for fastest laps, which were traded between Rosberg, Hamilton, and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel. Despite pushing extremely hard, neither Hamilton and Vettel could knock Rosberg off his podium.

Max Verstappen was the star of the show, sambaing around many drivers including Sergio Perez, Felipe Nasr and Pastor Maldonado. Two of the overtakes saw him dance around the outside at Turn 1, a risky move for any driver, let alone a rookie.

Rosberg retained his cool and took victory, driving the Brazilian fans nuts. Teammate Hamilton came through in second place, whilst Vettel rounded out the top three. Nico's win ensures that he claims second position in the 2015 Drivers Championship.

There is only one race remaining in the season; Abu Dhabi in two weeks time. Can Rosberg finish the season on a high with a hat-trick of victories? Join us to find out!
