Hamilton Dminates Deutschland

Lewis Hamilton got the ultimate revenge on title rival Sebastian Vettel by taking victory at Seb's home hunting ground in Germany.

After a bad result in Qualifying, Hamilton lined up 14th. Polesitter Vettel got away perfectly and distanced himself from the group. At the rear, Hamilton continuously passed the drivers in front of him and promoted himself.

As the mid point of the race approached, rain warnings became more prominent. When it eventually began to fall, Hamilton's confindence rose, as did his position.

For the latter part of the race, the rain's intensity fluctuated; heavy, light, heavy. This made conditions challenging for all of the drivers. On lap 52, a simple lock up sent Vettel slip sliding into the wall at turn 14 and out of his home race. Both he and his fans were distraught and there sorrows resonated around the Hockenheimring and across the country, peaking in Sebastian's home town of Heppenheim.

A safety car period allowed Hamilton the chance to take the lead when others pitted and regain composure. As a result, he casually took his 4th win in Germany, equalling local legend Michael Schumacher's record.
