Maiden Monza Mission for Rosberg

Nico Rosberg drove with military precision to complete his mission to win the Italian Grand Prix at the ultimate battlefield, the Autodromo di Monza.

Starting from second, Rosberg had a major mission from the get go. However, it was made a lot easier for him when ally Lewis Hamilton suffered a bad start. Enemies Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, Daniel Ricciardo and Valterri Bottas helped Rosberg by pushing Hamilton down to sixth.

Early pit stops mixed up the order and promoted those who had qualified lower down. The most impressive of these was Romain Grosjean, who began in 17th due to a bad qualifying and penalty but jumped to 5th.

Compared to earlier support races, this one was a lot more relaxed and incident free. This allowed Rosberg to control the race and march to his maiden Italian Grand Prix victory.

Nico Rosberg stepped onto the impressive Italian podium to celebrate his 50th achievement with the passionate Tifosi. Rosberg's victory also decreases the gap to championship leader and teammate Lewis Hamilton to two points with seven races remaining!
