Super Suzuka Sunday for Rosberg

Nico Rosberg had a super Sunday at Suzuka, securing his first Japanese Grand Prix victory and a third Constructors Championship for Mercedes.

Rosberg's teammate Lewis Hamilton had every advantage going into the race. Although he was starting second, he was in the favoured grid position as the past three Japanese Grand Prix have been won by the man in 2nd. Nico got a super start, whilst Lewis slipped back to 8th

Pit stops led to more action as many drivers gained confidence on their new tyres. Some teams even completed double stops.

The focus for the second half of the race was on Hamilton's recovery drive. He blasted through the order and managed to get himself into the final podium position. But he wanted to go one better. He hassled Max Verstappen, who was already moaning because slower cars wouldn't move out of his way. However, Max was able to hold Lewis off.

Nico Rosberg crossed the line to take his first Japanese Grand Prix victory. He also secured his team Mercedes' third Constructors Championship.

Congratulations to Mercedes!
