Hamilton's Silver Arrow Shines in Singapore

Lewis Hamilton and his silver arrow shone in the Singapore night, securing another superb victory.

Throughout the afternoon and early evening, heavy, monsoon-style rain fell and continued as the cars took to the grid. There was talk of starting the race behind the safety car but luckily for the drivers and fans, this didn't happen.

The start was the most dramatic of the seasonas the Ferrari's sandwiched the Red Bull of Max Verstappen. McLaren's Fernando Alonso was also dragged into the collision at Turn 1. This brought out the safety car for 5 laps.

When the race restarted, championship leader Lewis Hamilton took the lead. Five laps later, Hamilton's charge was halted again as Toro Rosso's Daniil Kvyat hit the wall in sector 2. This meant that the safety car made another appearance. Once the Dany debris was cleared, racing resumed again.

Hamilton continued to show his pace in the remainder of the race. As if Lewis didn't need any more challenges, the FIA decided to limit the race to time rather than laps, due to delays caused by early incidents.

Regardless of the shortened race, Hamilton kept his cool and guided his Silver Arrow to victory. Fireworks absorbed the sky, champagne flowed on the podium and Lewis Hamilton topped the Driver's Championship.
