Challenging Championship Victory for Rosberg!

Nico Rosberg finished his 200th race in style by winning the Singapore Grand Prix. But it wasn't easy...

Rosberg's start went to plan as he pulled away from the pack, creating a healthy gap. However the heat got to Nico Hulenburg who was hit from behind by Carlos Sainz and Daniil Kvyat and ploughed into the pit wall. The safety car was deployed and the pack were led through the pit lane whilst the flawed Force India was removed. This significantly reduced Rosberg's lead.

The restart saw Rosberg pull away again. His process was quickly halted by a message from the team about brake and engine issues that they were experiencing. Teammate Lewis Hamilton was also suffering.

Mercedes had tough competition to hold off throughout in the form of Daniel Ricciardo and Kimi Raikkonen. Ricciardo got closest to challenging for the race win.

Despite his lead being cut to just 10 seconds by Ricciardo, Rosberg kept cool, calm and collected to secure his first Singapore Grand Prix victory. Fireworks showered the skies as Rosberg did the same with champagne to the crowds below the podium.

Nico Rosberg is now back in the lead of the championship with six races remaining!
